Artist Reflections

I’ve painted many landscapes over the years—not because they’re my favorite subject, but because they’ve followed me through life. Vacations with family, weekend getaways with my husband, even cross-country moves have all left their mark. I take photos along the way, not just to remember where I’ve been, but to hold onto what the moment felt like. Later, some of those images become the starting point for a painting.

There’s something steadying about painting the land. It brings me back to quiet places where light, shape, and memory come together. These scenes remind me of God’s presence in the everyday—how beauty shows up in the familiar, and how stillness can speak without words.
