A one-of-a-kind landscape painting gazing up from underneath a giant hardwood shade tree. From this vantage point, the viewer sees leaf-filled branches and the sky beyond. The painting is signed by American artist Teresa Bernard in the lower right corner.

Artist Comments

It’s been a long, scorching summer, with temperatures often exceeding 100 degrees. Staying indoors where the A/C is running is the best way to beat the heat. However, sometimes I just had to get outside for a while and usually I could be found in the shade of the large tree next to our house. What do I notice when glancing up while standing in that shade? I saw branches stretching skyward filled with green leaves and the sky peaking between them.
