Texans affectionately call their state flag the “Lone Star Flag.” The state adopted it in 1845, when Texas joined the Union as the 28th state. Its iconic design features a vertical blue field beside two horizontal stripes—white above red—with a single white star centered in the blue. This lone star represents unity across Texas and reflects our shared devotion to God, state, and country.
