This is an original landscape painting of a classic Ford V8 from 1934. The vintage car is similar to the one driven by the notorious Bonnie and Clyde. Hand-painted and signed by fine artist Teresa Bernard in the lower left-hand side of the canvas.

This painting adds class to any wall or space in your home or workspace. It is painted by hand on gallery-wrapped stretched canvas allowing the artist to continue the composition to the sides of the painting. Forgotten Roads of Bygone Days won’t need to be framed unless you want it to be. It will look sensational anywhere you choose to put it on display. With the purchase of this summertime artwork, you will receive a personalized Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

Artist Comments

This painting is of a vintage Ford V8, the same type of car that helped make “Bonnie and Clyde” famous in the early 1930s. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were notorious fugitives who traveled throughout the central states of North America with their gang during the Great Depression, robbing and murdering wherever they went. The couple’s crime spree ended in their car when they were ambushed by Texas lawmen at a roadblock and then shot to death when 100 armor-piercing bullets riddled the vehicle. Bonnie and Clyde were buried in separate cemeteries in Dallas, TX. Clyde’s gravestone reads, “Gone but not forgotten.”

Today the actual bullet-riddled death car driven by the infamous couple is on display at Whiskey Pete’s Resort and Casino in Primm, Nevada. There is no admission charge to see the exhibit. For more information about the actual car, Bonnie and Clyde met their demise in, visit Roads & Rides. See additional information at Roadside America.

Artist Comments

Space art has become my favorite genre of creative expression because it allows my imagination to travel to off-world locations. However, because I am a realism artist, I want to keep my art as realistic as possible. In my efforts to accomplish realistic looking space paintings, I often study NASA images and photos of galaxies, planets, stars, and suns. I also look up at the night sky to observe the Moon, stars and constellations.

In this space painting an asteroid is heading right for an Earth-like planet on a collision course.

A Few Things About Asteroids

  • Asteroids are rocks that orbit the sun within our solar system.
  • They’re neither planets nor comets.
  • They don’t have any atmosphere.
  • Asteroids are made up of rocky, metallic, or icy substances.
  • They range in size and shape from 1-meter rocks to 1000-kilometer in diameter, roughly the size of a dwarf planet.

Size: 9″ w x 12″ h
Canvas Type: Canvas Board
Frame: Unframed

COA: Signed Certificate of Authenticity

An original painting depicting a comet passing by some distant planet along a path to who knows where. The comet has a long tail that trails behind as it emerges from a sparkling sea of stars in the distance. Below, clouds and an atmosphere envelop the planet’s surface in the painting’s foreground. Space artist Teresa Bernard signs the work in the bottom left-hand corner.

Path of The Comet is artwork created by hand on a sturdy canvas board. This type of canvas is most suitable for framing.  A customized Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is included with the purchase of this artwork.

Artist Comments

If you’re a fan of astronomy like me, you love a good night sky display, and comets are among the greatest of showmen. They don’t disappoint. Comets are among the most spectacular celestial events, with their bright, luminous “coma” and long dust and ion tails. They can appear out of nowhere and be visible for months at a time as they travel along their paths (orbits) around the Sun, creating a breathtaking and ever-changing sight.

A Few Things About Comets

  • Comets are best known for their long, streaming tails and are typically named for their discoverers.
  • They are made of mostly ice, dust, and frozen forms of various gases and molecules. They form far away from the Sun where the ices don’t melt.
  • They orbit the Sun in a more elliptical, or oval-shaped, path. As their path moves them closer to the Sun, they warm and begin to release their gases. The closer a comet gets to the Sun, the longer and brighter its tail will grow.
  • Comets range in size from a few miles wide to the largest known size of about 85 miles wide.

Artist Comments

Autumn is my favorite time of year. The cooler, more colorful season of fall is always welcome after a long, hot summer. We have a small forest of hardwood trees in the meadow behind our house. Every fall, I love seeing them change to various shades of red, orange, and yellow.  It’s such a treat!

A Tree Design
by Arna Bontemps 1902 – 1973

A tree is more than a shadow
Blurred against the sky,
More than ink spilled on the fringe
Of white clouds floating by.
A tree is more than an April design
Or a blighted winter bough
Where love and music used to be.
A tree is something in me,
Very still and lonely now.

Artist Comments

It’s been a long, scorching summer, with temperatures often exceeding 100 degrees. Staying indoors where the A/C is running is the best way to beat the heat. However, sometimes I just had to get outside for a while and usually I could be found in the shade of the large tree next to our house. What do I notice when glancing up while standing in that shade? I saw branches stretching skyward filled with green leaves and the sky peaking between them.

A Favorite Poem

Trees
by Joyce Kilmer 1886 – 1918

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

A one-of-a-kind landscape painting featuring the side view of a rundown farmhouse captures the charm of years gone by. Its stucco has cracks running through it. And there is a worn-out screen door and window. The yard and bush are overgrown adding to the feel of the neglected appearance of this Raggedy ol’ Farmhouse.

Teresa Bernard, a realism artist, has meticulously painted this 9 x 12-inch canvas board artwork by hand and has signed it in the bottom left corner.  It is preferable to frame this piece of art before putting it on the wall. Raggedy Ol’ Farmhouse is accompanied by a personalized Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

Artist Comments

This painting captures the simplicity and warmth of country life in a bygone era. The farmhouse is old, neglected, and worn, but the overgrown lawn with a few white wildflowers shows that there is still life here.

Everyone has their own idea of what is beautiful. For some, it’s something that’s clean and polished. For others, it’s something that’s rough and raw. This artwork is for those who love the beauty of something that’s worn and well-loved. This farmhouse painting will give your home a rustic feel.

A nautical-themed painting of a wooden boat. The boat is completely isolated from the viewer, who can only see the boat’s bow and the water. This painting exhibits strong contrasts between light and dark, as well as warmth and cool. The warmth of the sun is felt as it strikes the bow of the boat and casts a dark shadow in the cool water below. Hand-painted and signed by marine artist Teresa Bernard in the lower left side.

Bow of The Boat is a unique oil painting that does not need to be mounted in a frame before it is put on view. It is hand-painted on artist-grade gallery wrap stretched canvas which allows the composition to extend around the sides of the canvas. However, if you prefer to have it framed, it will look spectacular! A custom Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is included.

The copyright watermark ©️ teresabernardart.com is not on the actual canvas artwork.

Artist Comments

Artists are frequently influenced by other artists whose artwork they admire. The inspiration for Bow of the Boat came from an art teacher years ago. He enjoyed doing paintings of boats. In several of his paintings, he would crop out the rest of the boat to draw attention to a specific part or area of a boat, just as I did in this one.

I was commissioned a few years ago to create a series of five commission paintings for a gentleman who loves Africa. (You can find those in “Past Work.”) They included the landscape and wildlife of Africa. I really enjoyed doing them as it made me feel like I was actually there on some kind of safari. Every now and then, I’ll do another painting on Africa, and Eye of The Zeba is one of them.

COA: Signed Certificate of Authenticity

A small still life painting of a fine china teacup and saucer, the kind that grandma or great-grandma might have used to sip their tea or coffee. The teacup and saucer are decorated in burgundy and gold. A burgundy silk flower is also sitting in the saucer next to the teacup. The background is dark, and the tabletop is gold. This delicate and colorful teacup painting would be ideal for adding a touch of class to a small kitchen, dining area, or living room. The painting is signed by artist Teresa Bernard in lower left corner.

Because of its small-scale size, this one-of-a-kind painting is ideal for small rooms or areas where space is limited. It is 6×6-inches in size and was hand-painted on gallery wrap stretched canvas. The composition of Great-Grandma’s Fine China Teacup spreads out around the edges of the canvas, making it fit in with any modern decor of your home or office. It can also be framed if desired. A personalized Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is included.

Artist Comments

I named this painting Great-Grandma’s Fine China Teacup because, in this day and age of Starbucks, paper cups, and travel mugs, the art of drinking coffee or hot tea from fine china is quickly becoming a thing of the past for a great many Americans. Well, at least that is my perspective.

Here is a case in point. I read once about a young bride-to-be preparing for her upcoming wedding and how her mother coerced her into adding a set of fine china to her bridal registry. The young woman felt it would be ludicrous to do so as the china set would never get used except for holidays and perhaps rarely even then.

For many Americans, I suppose there is no longer a need for the loving memories that come from pulling out the fine china and using it for special occasions as our great-grandmothers did; or is there? And I guess it’s been forgotten that hot beverages taste much better when served in a fine china cup. Not to mention that teacups are pretty and dainty, which helps to make a special occasion that much more special.

So, what are you waiting for? Bring out your great-grandma’s (or grandma’s) fine china and put it to use today. You’re not getting any younger.

The Garden Cottage was painted by hand on a small-scale gallery-wrapped stretched canvas. Artist Comments

This painting’s composition is a close-up of the side of a garden cottage. I thought it would be interesting to crop out as much of the original scenery as possible so that the focus would be solely on a few elements—the window, siding, picket fence, and some flowers. This turned out really well. I’ve used this method before. Below are the other paintings in which I used a tight crop to achieve the desired effect.
