This is a very simple and uncluttered composition of hilltops. Simplistic or minimal composition paintings can sometimes have a calming effect on the viewer, as well as stir the imagination, which is one reason why I enjoy doing them on occasion. When looking at this painting, one has to wonder what lies beyond the next ridge. More trees, a herd of cows, a bevy of deer, or a flock of sheep? Viewers can let their imaginations run wild with this one.
