This small oil painting of the yellow rose was a fun one to do. I like doing small paintings like this one as it allows me to work on several art pieces in the same painting session. Obviously, I can finish smaller paintings much faster than larger one. Often, you will find me working on a large canvas and having several smaller paintings like this one going at the same time.

I live in the country, and scenes like the one in this painting are common. They are always a source of inspiration and provide me with material for my paintings.

This painting was a fun one to do. While I was painting the fence post in a meadow of wildflowers, a similar painting came to mind that I had done some time ago. It had a fence post too. However, the fence post in that earlier painting was nestled in the snow. I titled it “Fence Post in the Snow.” Who knows if there will be another fence post painting in the near future.
