It’s a sight as familiar as bluebonnets in spring and sunsets that stretch for miles.

The barn in this painting is one of those iconic landmarks, nestled alongside US Highway 377 just east of Stephenville. Flag of TexasTexans affectionately call their state flag the “Lone Star Flag.” The state adopted it in 1845, when Texas joined the Union as the 28th state. Its iconic design features a vertical blue field beside two horizontal stripes—white above red—with a single white star centered in the blue. This lone star represents unity across Texas and reflects our shared devotion to God, state, and country.

Each color carries its own meaning:
